If International Community does not stop dictator, Azerbaijan will, Aliyev says

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev says that Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan poses a threat to peace. In his words, if the International Community fails to stop him, Azerbaijan will take the corresponding action.

"Unfortunately, the International Community is ignoring Pashinyan's actions. Dictatorship proves to be an official policy which Armenia is now pursuing. A while ago, the leftist leader was detained there. Criminal proceedings against two ex-presidents are underway. Detentions have been unleashed in the country. Journalists are dying behind bars, and the political opposition is under pressure.

Pashynian is a new dictator in Armenia. Unfortunately, though, human rights organizations posing as protectors of imprisoned people do not have an adequate response to this. This is the demonstration of double standards. Unless the International Community stops them, Azerbaijan will take the corresponding action. The United Nations has passed four resolutions calling upon the Armenian troops to leave our land; however, Armenia has ignored these appeals for 30 years now," Aliyev said.

On September 27, tensions rose at the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, with attacks carried out and deaths reported.
