Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev says talks on Karabakh status are out of the question.
"I have repeatedly said that we will never allow the creation of a second Armenian state on the historical territory of Azerbaijan. I have said many times that the issue of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity would never be the subject of negotiations. I said that we would restore this integrity by military means if it could not be restored peacefully," Aliyev addressed the population from Fizuli district today.
According to him, the country's territorial integrity has been restored, and it is impossible to talk about the status of Karabakh.
"There is a united Azerbaijani state, a multinational, multi-confessional, progressive Azerbaijani state, where people of all nationalities and religions live together. The Armenian people will live the same way. We have nothing against them," Aliyev said.
Today, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva got acquainted with the implementation of the Fizuli-Shusha road construction project.
Aliyev said that the liberation of the city of Shusha from occupation showed Armenia the strength, the courage, and the heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers.
He said the operation to release Shusha required outstanding professionalism.
"I am convinced that this operation will have a special place in the military history of the world. The release of Shusha is a brilliant victory, which was the last blow to the enemy. It is no coincidence that the enemy signed the act of capitulation on November 10," Aliyev said.
He congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the start of construction of the Fizuli-Shusha road.
"Today, the foundation is being laid for the construction of the Fizuli-Shusha highway. This road is of great importance because it leads to the Karabakh crown, the city of Shusha. At the same time, this is the first project to be implemented on the liberated lands," Aliyev said.
