"We must make Shusha one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I have made a promise, and I will fulfill it," said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting held in a virtual format with Aydin Kerimov on the appointment of the president's special envoy to the Shusha region.
He said he would not allow the formation of a second Armenian state on Azerbaijan territory and that the Azerbaijani flag was hoisted in Shusha.
"We knew from the very first days of the war what our goal was, and we were successfully reaching Shusha. If specialists observe the course of the war, they will see our strategic goal," Aliyev said.
According to the President, the flag of Azerbaijan got hoisted on November 8 in Shusha.
"After that, the enemy fell to its knees, surrendered, raised the white flag. We returned the districts of Kalbajar, Lachin, Aghdam without a single shot. Our goal was Shusha, and our victory lies with Shusha. The day of the liberation of Shusha was declared the day of victory," Ilham Aliyev said.
