Odesa has launched an official investigation into the crossing of the Ukrainian state border by Mikheil Saakashvili. The information is spread by the editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian edition Цензор.НЕТ, Yuri Butusov.

"On October 1, former President Mikheil Saakashvili was arrested in Georgia, who was wanted under three articles of the Criminal Code, and a new case was launched - on charges of illegal crossing of the Georgian state border," writes Butusov.

According to him, Saakashvili crossed the border illegally. He said Saakashvili was able to cross the border by ferry, which left Chornomorsk for Batumi by Freight transport.

Butusov notes that the Ukrainian Border Guard Service has also launched an official investigation into Saakashvili's departure from Ukraine, as Saakashvili's departure from Ukraine is not recorded.

However, the editor-in-chief writes that either for this reason or for some other reason, the head of the Odesa division of the Ukrainian Border Guard Service has been temporarily suspended.

"The Ukrainian authorities will have to provide an explanation to the Georgian government on how Saakashvili got to Georgia so that the Ukrainian border guards did not notice him," writes Butusov.
