The death toll from an explosion at a medical facility in the Iranian capital increased to 19. The blast injured several people.
According to Iranian Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi, 25 people were in the building during the incident. The cause of the accident was a natural gas leak. According to preliminary reports, oxygen cylinders exploded, and the fire spread throughout the whole building.
Rescuers fought the blaze for several hours. The blast seriously damaged the clinic.
Most of the dead are women. Among the bodies are patients who were in the operating room at the time of the blast.
