Italy reportedly recorded 13,574 new cases of the novel virus and 477 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The country has so far confirmed 2,529,070 cases, 87,858 deaths and 1,973,388 recoveries.
The WHO labeled the novel virus a pandemic on 11 March 2020, with its outbreak starting in China in December of 2019. On 21 January, China confirmed that the new coronavirus is contagious and declared quarantine in its two cities.
