Italy's Health Ministry informed on Wednesday that 195 people died due to the COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, resulting in a new total of 31,106 virus-related deaths in the country since the outbreak began.

At the same time, 888 new COVID-19 cases were registered as the overall number of recorded cases reached 222,104. The figure, which stood around the same level for the last couple of days, has recorded a significant drop as the number that small was seen last time on March 6.

The good news is that the number of active cases has continued the decline which has started mid-April, as another 3,502 people successfully recovered from the disease.
