The official Twitter account of the 46th newly-elected US President Joe Biden has appeared and accumulated more than 500,000 followers in several hours.
Joe Biden’s team created the Twitter account with the name @PresElectBiden.
After Joe Biden’s January 20 inauguration, it will become his official Twitter account.
As a rule in general, the permanent Twitter presidential account @POTUS is subject to handover to a newly-elected president by a previous one. Barack Obama did the same in the case of Donald Trump, but currently, these accounts will not be transferred to Biden.
Folks â This will be the account for my official duties as President. At 12:01 PM on January 20th, it will become @POTUS. Until then, I'll be using @JoeBiden. And while you're here, follow @FLOTUSBiden @SenKamalaHarris @SecondGentleman and @Transition46.
