Freddy Paredes, the journalist of Ecuadorian TV channel Teleamazonas has been shot in the head in the country's capital, Quito. The crew was leaving the office of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas movement that has been protesting for the past several days.
According to the Indigenous peoples of the Americas movement the protesters had nothing to do with the incident. They do not know who attacked the journalist.
Protests in Ecuador have been going on for several days. Population is against fuel price hikes and abolition of state subsidies. The country's government has left the capital because of the riots.
