Man claims McDonald’s tea contained weed

A man claims he was left ‘high as a kite’ after drinking an iced tea from McDonald’s which contained weed, according to the Metro Newspaper UK.

Parrish Brown, 24, claimed a staff member at a drive-thru in Hilton Head, South Carolina, US, said ‘extra lemon’ in a weird way when he purchased the drink. He said he had ordered a 10-piece box of chicken nuggets, a double cheeseburger and a sweet tea with light ice and extra lemon. But he immediately noticed the drink tasted differently when he took a sip and said he carried on drinking it because he was thirsty. To his shock when he took the lid off, Parrish saw three bags of weed inside the cup. He said: ‘I have never had weed a day in my life, so immediately after I started drinking it, I started to feel weird and it didn’t taste like something I recognised.

‘I was high and panicking and at work, so I called my dad. I didn’t want to get in trouble for this.’ Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and said marijuana was taken into evidence and will be destroyed. No arrests have been made at this stage. A representative for McDonald’s said the company is ‘fully cooperating with law enforcement on the validity of this claim.’
