In April of 2021, U.S. authorities suspended the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine because of the risk of thrombosis. Vaccination resumed ten days later; however, confidence in this drug decreased.

Millions of doses are still in hospitals, and their deadline expires in June. As The Wall Street Journal writes, it is not possible to use millions of doses of the vaccine until the expiration date, which is why the fate of the vaccines is still unknown.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), patients received only half of Johnson & Johnson's 21.4 million doses, while 83% of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines have already been used.

Only one dose of the vaccine is given when vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson, and they can usually be stored in the refrigerator.

It can be used within three months after manufacture. The company is currently investigating whether it is possible to extend the term.
