The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reports that Armenia is violating the recent humanitarian ceasefire by firing at Tartar city and villages of the region.
The agency states that the information spread by Armenia today about the alleged shelling of Armenian territory using Azerbaijani anti-aircraft missiles and missile artillery is false and provocative.
"We state that Azerbaijan fully complies with the new humanitarian ceasefire.
On the contrary, starting from 09:30 on October 27, the Armenian side has been intensively firing mortars at our territories in the direction of the Agband village of Zangilan region," the statement reads.
The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reports that during the day on October 26 and night on October 27, the Armenian armed forces did not comply with the new humanitarian ceasefire regime and fired at the positions of the units of the Azerbaijan Army in various directions of the front and human settlements near the frontline.
The agency revealed that combat operations continued mainly in the Khojavend, Fizuli, and Gubadli directions.
"Our Army prevented attempts of the attack, and the enemy got driven back suffering losses.
Azerbaijan Army destroyed the forward command post of the 18th motorized rifle division of the Armenian armed forces. Colonel Sergei Shakaryan, the chief of staff of the division, was among the dead.
A large number of Armenian armed forces, as well as one T-72 tank, four D-30 and three D-20 howitzer-guns, one - OSA-AKM anti-aircraft missile system, one BM-21 Grad MLRS, one radar station, and six auto vehicles were destroyed and wrecked in different directions of the front.
At present, Azerbaijani troops are monitoring the operational situation," reads the statement.
