More than 100 world leaders set to attend COP26 climate summit

World leaders are arriving in Glasgow this weekend ahead of the COP26 climate summit which has started today. It will run for two weeks and finish on November 12. US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron are also among the attendants.

More than 100 world leaders will be present at the summit, with a total of 25,000 people having arrived there.

The goal of COP26 is to address the climate crisis, following up on the last event of this kind since 2019. This comes just a few months after the UN’s IPCC Report which labelled global warming as a "code red for humanity". COP26 is therefore being regarded as a landmark event by attendees from around the world.
