More than 8 billion coronavirus vaccines administered worldwide

The number of coronavirus vaccinations in the world has exceeded 8 billion. More than half of them (4.16 billion) were made in three countries - China (2.5 billion), India (1.2 billion), and the United States (0.46 billion).

To date, people have received 8.03 billion doses of the coronavirus vaccine. However, it is still impossible to determine how many people on earth have undergone the full course of vaccination, as many countries only record the number of certified doses of COVID vaccines. In a number of states, the revaccination of citizens has already begun.

The rate of vaccination in the world has accelerated: the previous billion vaccinations were given in 37 days, and it took less than a week to reach this billion.

In total, there are at least 15 vaccines against coronavirus in the world. Their manufacturers are American concern Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech, British-Swedish company AstraZeneca and Oxford University, Chinese companies Sinovac and Sinopharm, Indian Covaxin, as well as American Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. Russia and a number of countries are vaccinating the population with Russian vaccines Sputnik V, Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, and Covivac.
