NATO supports the right of all countries to decide their future and foreign policy without external interference. According to Report.ge, this is mentioned in the statement published by the North Atlantic Council.
The Council is concerned by the substantial, unprovoked, and unjustified Russian military build-up on the borders of Ukraine and calls on Russia to immediately defuse the situation.
"We are seriously assessing the implications for Alliance security of the current situation. We will always respond in a determined way to any deterioration of our security environment, including through strengthening our collective defense posture as necessary. NATO will take all necessary measures to ensure the security and defense of all NATO Allies," reads the statement.
However, the North Atlantic Council said in a statement that NATO was ready for a reasonable dialogue with Russia.
