Democratic Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, who represent New York State in the US Congress's upper house, call on Governor Andrew Cuomo to resign.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio also called on the governor to resign.
On March 11, the New York State House of Legislature committee began proceedings to assess whether there was sufficient reason to strip Cuomo of his powers as governor.
Many members of the state committee spoke in favor of his impeachment. Cuomo himself denies the accusations against him.
Earlier, several women accused the governor of sexual harassment.
