The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, has appealed to the world community and international organizations regarding the shooting by the Armenian military at the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. The statement said the shooting got carried out with prohibited cluster bombs.

"Since September 27, 2020, the Armenian Armed Forces have carried out intensive firing on Azerbaijani settlements and social and strategic facilities. The attacks are carried out on civilians. Armenia uses heavy artillery, aviation, missile systems, and prohibited weapons. As a result of the shooting, the civilian population of Azerbaijan is killed, there are wounded and injured, houses, historical and cultural monuments, administrative buildings, shopping malls, and other social facilities are seriously damaged," the statement said.

"The cluster bombs were used in areas far from the battle line. They crashed 10 meters from the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline has special strategic importance in terms of economy, politics, and energy security not only for Azerbaijan but also for Georgia, Turkey, and the whole region, as well as for European and world states. Another war crime committed by Armenia is not only against Azerbaijan but also regional states and the whole of Europe," reads the statement.
