Pashinyan signs agreement to end war in Nagorno-Karabakh

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says he has signed an agreement with the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan to end hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. Pashinyan writes about it on the social network.

"Dear compatriots, sisters, and brothers. I made a very difficult decision for myself and every one of us. At 01:00, I signed a ceasefire agreement with the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. The agreement text, which has already been published, is incredibly painful for our people and me.

I made this decision due to an in-depth analysis of the military situation and the assessment of the people who are most aware of the current situation, and with the belief that this is the best solution in this situation. I will make a statement about it the next day.

It is not a victory, but there is no defeat until you know yourself. We can never know ourselves, and this must be the beginning of an era of our national unity, of revival.

We need to analyze the years of independence to plan the future and do not repeat past mistakes.

I kneel before each of our victims. I bow before our soldiers, generals, and volunteers who defended their homeland at the cost of their lives. They saved unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh.

We will fight to the end and win. Long live Armenia, long live Artsakh," Nikol Pashinyan wrote.
