The Seoul government says domestic cats and dogs with fever, cough, and shortness of breath will be tested for the coronavirus if they have contacted a person infected, AFP reports.
The program launched a few weeks after the country officially confirmed the fact of coronavirus infection in animals.
However, only animals with symptoms who had direct contact with those infected will undergo testing on COVID-19.
Animals whose test results are positive should remain in isolation for 14 days, but if their owner is infected as well, they will be taken to special shelters.
