According to the contract signed by the European Commission with Pfizer, which provides for the supply of coronavirus vaccines in 2022 and 2023, the cost of one dose is 19.50. The Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borissov made the statement, Euractiv reports.
"The price of Pfizer was 12 euros; then it became 15.50 euros. Supply contracts now amount to 19.50 euros," Borissov said.
Euractiv writes that based on the agreement with the vaccine companies, the European Commission does not disclose the cost of the drugs. However, in December last year, Belgian State Secretary Eva De Bleeker shared the prices of vaccines on Twitter. It became known that one dose of AstraZeneca cost 1.78 euros, and Pfizer - 12 euros.
