The study involved 2 260 adolescents aged 12 to 15. 18 cases of infection were detected in the placebo group, and no case of the virus was detected in vaccinated children. Accordingly, the vaccine has shown 100% efficacy.
Vaccine use is already allowed in teens over 16. Pfizer management hopes that there will also be an opportunity to vaccinate elementary school students before the next school year.
As for side effects, young people between the ages of 16 and 20 can easily take it. Side effects are mainly pain in the groin area, colds, headache, and fatigue.
The company also launched a vaccine test in juveniles last week. If approved, the first dose of the drug would be used from the age of 6 months.
