At the protest held in Paris on December 5, police arrested 64 people.

As French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin says, eight security officials got injured in the protesters' clashes.

The latter threw bottles and stones at police officers, and law enforcers used tear gas to disperse them.

The protesters oppose Article 24 of the bill on security, noting that it "opens the door for police aggression."

Namely, the 24th article of the bill "On global security," the French National Assembly adopted in the first reading, expands the powers of police officers and provides for punishment of up to one year in prison and a fine of 45 thousand euros for disseminating "an image of a face or other element of identification" a police officer or gendarme "with the obvious purpose of harming their physical or mental integrity."

The protesters say this initiative poses a threat to media freedom in the country.
