Anti-police violence and anti-racism protesters in New Orleans of the United States threw the memorial of a prominent slave owner into Mississippi river, writes Fox News.

The protesters have flung down the monument, placed it into two trucks, and took it to the riverbank. The truck drivers are arrested. The New Orleans Mayor condemned the act and called it illegal.

Protests in the United States and other countries started after a policeman used excess force with George Floyd, causing his death in Minneapolis. The footage of the was spread via the internet, showing a policeman handcuffing Floyd and pushing and pressing him to the ground. Floyd asked for help with the air shortage. Policeman ignored his request. The policeman guilty in George Floyd's death is arrested, and four other policemen are fired from their jobs.
