According to the press service of the Patriarchate, the practice of going to the graves during Easter is not a religious tradition but formed during the Soviet period.

The Russian Orthodox Church calls on believers in the coming weeks, including Easter, to pray at home and refrain from visiting temples.

1,786 new cases of coronavirus got reported in Russia over the past day. According to the coronavirus Operational Headquarters, the total number of infected reached 11,917, while new cases got reported in 57 regions.

The highest number, 1,124 cases, is in the capital, Moscow. Across the country, the death toll reached 94, 12 of them died last night. 795 patients recovered, and 7945 patients continue treatment at the hospitals.
