South Korea has a prison sentence for spreading fake information about the novel coronavirus vaccine.

All the vaccines approved by the agency have been tested and found to be safe, the health ministry reports.

South Korea's authorities said 279 people are under investigation on charges of spreading false information about the COVID-19 vaccine.

The dissemination of false information is subject to imprisonment for about seven years.

South Korea kicked off its vaccination program on February 26 and has already vaccinated 300,000 people.
