Tactical exercises of the Navy with the participation of naval warships and a Marine Corps have started in Baku, the local media reports.
The purpose of the exercises is to conduct joint naval operations to prevent the danger of military-political and economic interests, protect the energy infrastructure in the Caspian Sea's Azerbaijani sector, monitor oil and gas pipelines, etc.
The exercise participants will work on different tasks held in two stages and will end on June 23. One thousand personnel, 43 ships and boats, and two helicopters are participating in the exercises.
