According to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, hostilities near Tovuz continue on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. The Armenian side keeps firing in the direction of the settlements.
The Azerbaijani military said that on July 16, Armenian military units attempted an attack on Azerbaijani checkpoints in the Tovuz region near the border. Large-caliber firearms were used in the direction of the villages of Agdam, Dondari, Gushchu, and Vahidli. No one was injured in the attack.
"The situation is under control," said Colonel Vagif Dargakhli, the head of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's press service.
Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan said that he informed the OSCE representative about the aggravation of the situation along the border with Azerbaijan.
The situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border worsened on July 12. There are victims on both sides.
