Rescue operations continue in Japan. Typhoon Hagibis struck central and eastern parts of the country. The death toll now stands at 74 as cleanup efforts are underway in many areas. The number of injured reaches 220. Hundreds are considered missing. Most of the flooded rivers have already returned to the riverbed. Evacuated residents remain in temporary shelters.

As a result of flooding of 52 rivers on the island of Honshu almost every house has been flooded. Rivers have risen by 2 meters. Particular damage was caused to the residents of Fukushima Prefecture. The site, where in 2011 nuclear power plant crashed has become the strongest epicenter of the typhoon again. The streets are full of destroyed household items. A part of the population, which failed to evacuate during the disaster is located on the second floor of their flooded houses.

The Japanese government will allocate $ 6.5 million for rehabilitation.
