The United States will provide an additional $ 300 million in civilian assistance to Afghanistan, the Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated.
"We are working with Congress to support the Afghan people and the commitment to the investment process in the country, to provide them with $ 300 million in civilian assistance in 2021 through the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development. With the withdrawal of troops, we will provide economic and civilian assistance to ensure lasting peace in the country," Blinken said.
The US funding will focus on Afghanistan's economic growth, the fight against corruption and drug trafficking, and health and education systems development.
