The United States of America budgets one billion USD for Central and Eastern European countries to ensure energy security. The USA State Secretary, Mike Pompeo declared the news during the Munich Security Conference.
“As a brand new statement today of our support for sovereignty, prosperity, and energy independence of our European friends, today I want to announce that through the International Development Finance Corporation, and with the support of our United States Congress, we intend to provide up to $1 billion in financing to Central and Eastern European countries of the Three Seas Initiative,” –Pompeo said during the Munich Security Conference.
The Three Seas Initiative is a joint Polish and Croatian project in support of cooperation in the fields of trade, infrastructure, energetics, and politics of twelve countries bordering the Adriatic, Baltic, and Black seas.
