'This is not a false alarm': WHO chief

WHO chief Tedros Ghebreyesus says that some months ahead will be difficult, and some Northern Hemisphere countries are passing through a rough patch even now. In his words, the entire world has entered a critical phase of fighting the novel virus.

"We call upon leaders to take urgent steps to avoid fatalities, the collapse of the healthcare system, and school closures. I reiterate this is not a false alarm," the WHO chief declared.
