EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, is paying a visit to Azerbaijan. Today he met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
"I am delighted to be in Baku again. As you said, the situation has changed. Many disturbing events have taken place in recent months, and that's why I am here today," Klaar stated.
According to him, the High Representative has contacted the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"The European Union is very interested in security, stability, and peace in the South Caucasus. I am here to get acquainted with the situation," Toivo Klaar told Ilham Aliyev.
