Starting May 17, due to a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases, strict lockdown got lifted in Turkey, local media reports.

The removal of restrictions is planned in several stages. Non-food and grocery stores will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. On weekdays, the curfew will be in effect from 21:00 to 05:00. Catering facilities will be available throughout the week from 07:00 to 20:00. Cafes, teahouses, cinema clubs, internet cafes, swimming pools, and gyms will be closed from May 17 to June 1.

Persons under the age of 18, residents over 65, and those fully vaccinated against coronavirus are not subject to curfews.

According to Worldometers, 5,117,374 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Turkey, of which 4,947,256 have recovered, and 44,760 died.
