Starting May 17, due to a decrease in the number of new cases of coronavirus, strict lockdown will be lifted in Turkey, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

Non-food and grocery stores will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00.

On weekdays, the curfew will be in effect from 21:00 to 05:00. Catering facilities will be open throughout the week from 07:00 to 20:00

Cafes, teahouses, cinema clubs, internet cafes, swimming pools, and gyms will be closed from May 17 to June 1.

Persons under the age of 18, residents over 65, and those fully vaccinated against coronavirus are not subject to curfews.

A total of 5,106,862 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Turkey, of which 4,932,838 people recovered, and 44,537 died.
