Turkmenia has sent an application for joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) in observer status, informs the Foreign Ministry. The Foreign Minister notified that the President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov had signed the decree on Turkmenia to enter the WTO under the observer status.
According to the procedure, the World Trade Organization will review the application from Turkmenia during the next meeting.
Turkmenia discussed the opportunity to join the WTO nine years ago. Ministry believes that the WTO membership will be the right stimulus for the country's economic development and extends international partnership opportunities.
