Up to 89.3% of patients infected with COVID-19 in the Russian capital confirmed to have the Indian strain of coronavirus. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in an interview with Russian media.

"In order to resist it, a person must have twice as many antibodies than when it comes to the Wuhan virus," the mayor said.

He said the new strain is more aggressive and spreads faster.

"In fact, we are going through this story again with even more serious consequences," Sobyanin said.
