A new strain of the coronavirus "Omicron" will become dominant in the EU from mid-January. According to Report.ge, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen stated.
She hoped that the EU would have the strength and ability to defeat the virus when 66% of the bloc's population was fully vaccinated.
"Like many of you, I'm saddened that we will spend Christmas with pandemic again," she said.
