US administers first COVID-19 vaccine

The first anti-coronavirus vaccine has been administered in the USA.

"First Vaccine Administered. Congratulations USA! Congratulations WORLD!", President Donald Trump tweeted.

Earlier, Trump said that he does not plan to receive a coronavirus vaccine now. He also tweeted that people working at the White House "should receive the vaccine somewhat later... unless specifically necessary".

The COVID-19 vaccine, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, has not been approved or licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, on 12 December, the administration permitted its use in the case of US citizens over 16 if the urgent necessity for this surfaced.
