The COVID-19 vaccine, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, has not been approved or licensed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

It has issued an emergency use authorization for the vaccine.

Vaccinations will be available to US citizens over 16 years old, the Pfizer official website reports.

As the Financial Times says, patients will receive the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine within the following 24 hours.

First, the vaccine will be available for medical workers and nursing homes.

“Our nation has achieved a medical miracle. In nine months, we received a safe and effective vaccine,” said US President Donald Trump.

Patients will receive the first dose of the vaccine in the next 24 hours, he said, although US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said vaccinations would begin on December 14.

The United States is the sixth country after the UK, Canada, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico to authorize emergency vaccine use from Pfizer / BioNTech.
