The United States is imposing sanctions on Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic. Washington accuses him of violating human rights. Reads the statement issued by US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.
"The sanctions are imposed because Kadyrov is involved in serious human rights violations in the Chechen Republic," the document said.
Kadyrov himself responded to the imposition of sanctions.
"Pompeo, we will fight. It will be more interesting now," the Head of the Chechen Republic wrote in the Telegram, posting a photo of himself standing in a room full of weapons.
