Caroline Hunter, a member of Election Commission, has resigned, writes Washington Post.

After the resignation of Hunter, the Election Commission might stop working a few months before the November elections as the number of members do not meet the quorum requirements. To continue work, the Commission needs to have at least four important decision-makers in its team. Currently, there are only three left. The Commission managed to resume work in June after 10-moths interval after Republican, James Trenner, was appointed the Head of the Commission by the Senate.

Washington Post writes that the White House considers the Lawyer, Allen Dickerson, for the position. The candidate must be presented at the Congress, and then the Senate confirms the candidate.

Washington Post doubts that the Election Commission manages to implement control over the election candidates. The similar situation was in 2008 when the Commission had stopped functioning.
