As it was decided at the EU-member countries summit, international travel will gradually resume in the Summer via vaccination certificates.
President of the European Council Charles Michel declared about it today.
As European Commission Chairperson Ursula Von der Leyen said, the vaccine certification system may take effect in June.
She remarked that one-fourth has already been vaccinated out of 160 million people living in the EU.
In her words, the EU plans to vaccinate children and teenagers against the novel coronavirus, and thousands of million vaccine doses are required.
Charles Michel noted that the representatives of the EU member countries failed to reach a joint position regarding the annulment of an intellectual right of vaccine ownership temporarily.
