Vaccination against COVID-19 starts in Azerbaijan today. Vaccinations are free (cost covered by the state) and voluntary.

Azerbaijan has purchased 4 million doses of the Chinese-made vaccine Sinovac. One person will receive two doses of the vaccine. A second dose of the vaccine is given 21 days after the first dose.

In the first stage, vaccination is planned only in state hospitals. Vaccines are stored in special cold storage rooms.

First of all, vaccination will be given to people at high risk: health workers; persons over 65; Personnel involved in anti-epidemic measures by law enforcement agencies.

The second stage of vaccination includes a group of citizens at increased risk from a medical point of view: persons with chronic respiratory diseases, hemodialysis, diabetes, obesity; persons over 50 with at least one chronic disease; Education and social security workers permanently residing in social institutions, ASAN Xidmət and DOST centers, public transport sectors, operators and telecommunications service providers, postal and banking sector employees in direct contact with the public; Individuals who work at risk (employees in the areas necessary for the functioning of society - national and regional security, justice, finance, etc.).

At the same time, the special tightened quarantine regime will be eased in Azerbaijan from today.

The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the easing of certain restrictions under the tightened special quarantine regime enters into force today. Citizens no longer need to obtain an SMS permit to leave their homes.

Shopping facilities (except for food outlets, cafes, tea houses, and large shopping malls)resume work, as well as beauty salons, hairdressing salons; Museums, and exhibition halls.

The movement between cities and regions is allowed.

The Baku metro will not work, and public transport will be restricted on weekends until the end of the special quarantine regime.

It is mandatory to wear a mask both indoors and outdoors to protect social distance and use other protective means in Azerbaijan.
