The COVAX vaccines pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, convened by CEPIGAVI and WHO, has ramped up its efforts to deliver safe and effective vaccines to countries globally. WHO Cheif Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine delivery process is planned to start in February.
The COVAX has already signed the deal on distributing around 40 million doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines globally.
The WHO also expects to get around 150 million doses from AstraZeneca in the first quarter of 2021.
