A woman diagnosed with coronavirus gave birth to a healthy baby in Brussels. Due to the complicated condition, she underwent a C-section, although the complication was not related to the virus.
"They told me they would test me on COVID-19, and I thought the answer would be negative, but the next day my gynecologist called me and told me the answer was positive. I saw my son only for two minutes," said the mother of the newborn.
The newborn got transferred to the surgical department to reduce the risk of spreading the new coronavirus.
According to the World Health Organization, mothers who have coronavirus can only breastfeed following strict hygiene norms.
