Dumitru Comanescu, a resident of Bucharest, is the world's oldest man. He received the title after the death of the previous record holder, 112-year-old British Bob Weighton.

Comanescu is 111 years old. He was born on November 8, 1908, in Romania.

Comanescu studied at the Faculty of Mathematics, but then dropped out and began studying agriculture.

He has worked in this field for 70 years.

The world's oldest man says the recipe for longevity is pretty simple. It is the love of his wife, sons, and grandchildren.

The previous record-holder, the oldest person on the planet, 112-year-old Bob Weighton, died in late May.

Bob Weighton became the world's oldest man unofficially in the UK on February 27.

Weighton officially took the title after an investigation into the death of 112-year-old Chitetsu Watanabe was completed. He died in Japan a few days after he received the certificate of the Guinness World Records book.
