Passengers from China to be tested on coronavirus at the airport

Doctors and epidemiological services are working at Tbilisi Airport. Tamar Gabunia, Deputy Health Minister, provides the information. According to the information, the passengers of China flights will be tested at Tbilisi International Airport on coronavirus.

“The passengers will be tested according to the recommendation of the World Health Organization. The test covers the assessment of the symptoms. First of all, the passengers have to have an informational booklet on the main symptoms. The thermal screening will reveal the bearers of the first symptom. Those, having the body temperature above 38° will be tested on further symptoms right in the place, before leaving the building of the airport. These passengers will be referred to the medical hospitals,” – says Tamar Gabunia.

According to her, the coronavirus is transmitted through the air; hence the cargos from China do not carry risks.

The coronavirus emerged in Wuhan city of China, belongs to a big family of viruses, and causes acute respiratory syndrome. The worldwide statistics of the deaths caused by coronavirus if 800 people in 2002/03. Then the virus also emerged from China.
