Japanese scientists have found that human muscles recover best when blood sugar levels are low.

In their view, glucose is essential for cell development, but its high levels have detrimental effects. The process adversely affects the growth of satellite cells.

During the experiment, it was found that these cells proliferate in response to high levels of sugar. The findings show that patients with diabetes and high blood sugar lose muscle mass quickly.
