“The restrictions have provided results and situation has stabilized,’’ Deputy Director of Georgia’s National Center for Disease Control Paata Imnadze said.

He commented on the epidemiological situation, stressing that Georgia sees 2,000 coronavirus cases daily, while this number hit 5,000 earlier.

Imnadze states that the future situation depends on the population to follow the rules.

“I hope, New Year will pass without problems,’’ he claimed, adding that following the recommendations is the best way to contain the virus transmission.
