"If we ease the restrictions, we will have about 5 000 cases of infection every day by the end of January," the head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health said.
According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, if the existing restrictions are maintained, the infection rate will decrease, and there will be 1 571 cases daily.
"With these restrictions, we have reached 70% with the number of people wearing a mask, but we want 95%. If we go above this figure, we will have a daily infection rate of 728," Gamkrelidze said.
